Hey… I’ve been where you are. 

It can be daunting to look for a therapist once you’ve decided to seek support.  The worries;

  • is this the right one for me?
  • how difficult will it be?
  • can I afford it?
  • will this even help me at all?

Let me assure you; regardless of whether we even speak or meet, you are taking a positive step by seeking support.

None of us gets through the difficulties of life alone.  As human beings, we’re not designed to!  Seeking support from a therapist is just like asking the dentist to help with your toothache, or engaging a teacher to help you learn a new skill.

Am I the right therapist for you?

Let me tell you a little about how I work, and you can decide from there…

 

  • My therapy room is in Glossop, Derbyshire, but I can work remotely via webcam (so if technology works for you, geography isn’t a problem!)
  • When you and I work together, I commit 100% to supporting you; but I also want you to commit to supporting yourself (and I’ll show you how you can do that in a way that works for you)
  • I can’t promise a “quick fix” but I do promise to be here for you with absolutely no judgement
  • In our safe and confidential therapeutic space, you can express yourself and your emotions freely. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on for you, and I’ll help you to find answers that (most likely) already lie within you
  • I’ll teach you practical tools, and give you resources that you can fall back on when times get tough.  In this way, you’ll build your own resilience, and continue your healing outside of our sessions

How do I work?

You are a beautifully unique individual, and there is no “one size fits all” solution to emotional healing.

When we work together, we’ll do so in a way that is right for you.  You might already have a preference for this; but if not, we’ll find what suits you the best. 

Here’s just a few of the approaches we might take, and often, these approaches work well in combination:-

Clinical Hypnotherapy

  • Hypnosis and Clinical Hypnotherapy can help you with many different things. It’s not like stage hypnosis, (so you won’t be clucking like a chicken…)
  • Hypnotherapy therapy involves my taking you down into a deep and relaxing trance where we bypass your conscious mind, and communicate with your unconscious mind
  • This helps to work on a deeper level than with just conscious talking, and can bring great insight into yourself, understanding of your mindset, and a shift towards positive change
  • We might work with hypnotherapy exclusively or as part of an overall approach

Hypnotherapy can help with many things, like quitting smoking, stress or anxiety, panic attacks, weight management, phobias, nerves, self-esteem, insomnia and sleep disturbance, pain management, confidence and assertiveness, and lots more.

  • Whether we use this together to help you process difficult memories, trauma, life challenges, or emotional distress, or I teach you the skill to help you cope with nerves, anxiety or stress, it’s a way of working that is experiential and transformative.
  • It’s almost like you’re “re-setting your nervous system”, and it’s a real gift to have in your self-help and thrapeutic toolbox.

EFT can help with practically any emotional healing issue.  It’s especially great at helping with addiction or weight management by reducing cravings, releasing pent up emotions while staying grounded, helping to uncover the real reasons why you feel, think, or behave a certain way.

  • Working with me in a calm and safe space, you can take the time you need to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I’ll be with you while you feel your feelings, supporting you, and helping you find clarity. You are free to say what you want or need to, and you’ll be listened to and heard without judgement.
  • And if you want more than a listening ear, then I’ll help you challenge your perspective, look at things in a different way, and find answers that feel right to you.
  • Let me help you unravel the knots in your mind, and together, we’ll find your truth.
